“Việt Cộng” is Vietnam War-era shorthand for the military arm of the National Liberation Front, a political organization and army in South Vietnam that fought the United States and South Vietnamese governments during the Vietnam War. The NLF directly targeted several Michigan State University Group programs throughout their tenure in South Vietnam, including disrupting the National Identity Card program by stealing IDs and making counterfeit ones.334 Records
